If your travel date to Canada changes, your eTA is still valid as long as it has not expired and your passport details remain the same.
What You Need to Know
A Canadian eTA is valid for up to 5 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. You can use it to enter Canada at any time during that period without needing to update your travel dates. If your travel date has changed but your eTA is still valid, there’s no need to make any changes. However, if your eTA was tied to incorrect information or your new plans fall outside the validity period, a new application may be required.
Our Recommendation
Let sherpa° know as soon as your travel plans change so we can verify that your eTA is still valid for your new dates. If your travel is delayed beyond the eTA’s expiration, we’ll let you know what to do.
A Quick Tip
Check your passport and eTA validity before traveling to ensure they align with your updated travel plans.
