The Bali Tourist Levy applies only to arrivals into Bali and is not valid for entry into other parts of Indonesia.
What You Need to Know
The Bali Tourist Levy is a regional tourism fee required for international travelers entering Bali. It applies when you arrive directly in Bali, including through the island’s main international airport, such as I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, as well as certain seaports that handle international arrivals.
If you enter Indonesia through another city, such as Jakarta or Surabaya, the Bali Tourist Levy does not apply at that point of entry. However, if you later travel to Bali domestically, you may still be required to pay the levy before or upon arrival in Bali.
The levy is separate from your visa or eVisa. You must still meet Indonesia’s national entry requirements at any official port of entry.
Our Recommendation
Before traveling, confirm your arrival route and ensure you understand whether the Bali Tourist Levy applies to your itinerary. Check for any updates to entry procedures prior to departure.
A Quick Tip
Carry a printed or digital copy of your Bali Tourist Levy payment confirmation when arriving in Bali, along with your passport and any required visa or travel authorization.
