An approved New Zealand eTA is valid for two years from the date of approval or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.
What You Need to Know
The validity period begins on the date your eTA is approved. You can use it for multiple entries into New Zealand during the two-year period, as long as your passport remains valid. The validity period refers to how long the eTA can be used to enter New Zealand and is separate from the permitted length of stay for each visit.
Most travelers can stay in New Zealand for up to 90 days per visit. However, if you hold a British (GBR) passport, you may stay for up to 6 months per visit.
Our Recommendation
After your eTA is approved, check the approval email to confirm the expiration date.
A Quick Tip
Remember that the validity period only refers to how long you can use the eTA to enter New Zealand. It does not determine how long you can remain in the country on each visit.
