When staying with a family member, friend, or volunteering organization while visiting Uganda, the following additional documents may be required.
What You Need to Know
Staying with friends or family: Provide an invitation letter from your host. This should include your name, their name, address, dates you’ll be staying, and a formal invitation.
On safari or in camps: Provide your itinerary from your tour company, including your dates of travel and the locations where you’ll be staying.
Volunteering: Provide an invitation letter from the volunteer organization you’ll be working with.
These documents help confirm your accommodation details and support your visa application.
Our Recommendation
Prepare the appropriate accommodation document well in advance of your trip. Double-check that names, dates, and addresses are correct to avoid delays or rejections.
A Quick Tip
Keep both a printed and digital copy of your accommodation letter or itinerary with you while traveling. Immigration officers may ask to see it when you arrive in Uganda.
