If you’ve applied for a U.S. ESTA through Sherpa°, there are a few reasons why you might not have seen any updates yet.
⏳ 1. Your Application May Not Have Been Submitted Yet
While the U.S. ESTA is valid for 2 years, Sherpa° accepts applications at any time, even outside of this government submission window.
If your trip is far in the future, we hold your application and submit it at the best time based on:
- U.S. government processing timelines
- Your travel dates
- Validity rules
This ensures your ESTA is valid for your entire trip.
🕒 2. It’s Still Being Reviewed by the Government
Most ESTA applications are processed quickly, but delays can happen due to:
- Randomized checks
- Document verification
- High government processing volumes
Sherpa° will notify you as soon as we receive a decision.
✅ 3. Your ESTA Has Been Approved
If you’ve received a confirmation that your ESTA is approved, you’re ready to travel! You don’t need to print or receive a physical document; the ESTA is automatically linked to your passport and available to airline and border agents.
💡 Tip:
To check entry and visa requirements for your trip, use Sherpa°’s Travel Requirements Tool. If you think something’s gone wrong, submit a request here and we’ll be happy to help.
