The Cuba Tourist Card has been phased out and replaced by the electronic Cuba eVisa system.
What You Need to Know
In the past, travelers entered Cuba using a paper Tourist Card, which was often provided by airlines or purchased before departure. This system has now been replaced by the Cuba eVisa, a digital authorization that is linked to your personal details. Instead of receiving a paper card, travelers now receive an approval email with a personal eVisa code. This code must be entered into the D’VIAJEROS online form (https://dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu/inicio) within 7 days of arrival to generate a QR code, which is presented to border authorities at the airport.
Our Recommendation
Do not expect to receive a paper Tourist Card as in the past. Instead, watch for your Cuba eVisa approval email and make sure to complete the D’VIAJEROS form with your eVisa code before traveling. sherpa° can guide you through the process to ensure you’re fully prepared.
A Quick Tip
Always carry both a digital and printed copy of your D’VIAJEROS QR code along with your passport. This serves the same purpose as the old Tourist Card but in a modernized, digital format.
