Kenya eTAs cannot be extended; travelers must leave the country before their authorized stay expires.
What You Need to Know
The Kenya eTA is issued as either a single-entry or multiple-entry travel authorization. The single-entry eTA is valid for 90 days and allows a stay of up to 30 days, while the multiple-entry eTA is valid for 5 years and allows a stay of up to 90 days per visit. Kenya does not provide an option to extend the eTA once issued. If you wish to stay longer, you must apply for a different visa type through the Directorate of Immigration Services, usually before your current stay ends. Overstaying can lead to penalties and affect future travel.
Our Recommendation
If you think you will need to stay beyond your eTA's allowed period, contact Kenya’s immigration authorities well in advance to explore other visa options.
A Quick Tip
Always check your eTA’s validity and the permitted length of stay before making plans, and be sure to comply with Kenyan immigration rules to avoid complications.
