Not all eVisa or eTA applications require a hotel booking. If you’re staying with friends, family, or a private host, you can still submit accommodation details, just a different kind.
🏡 Staying with Friends or Family?
In many cases, you’ll need to upload:
-
An Invitation Letter from your host
This can be an email or a typed document that includes:- Your full name
- Your host’s full name
- The host’s address
- The dates you’ll be staying with them
- A brief statement of invitation
-
A Copy of Your Host’s ID or Passport Page
Especially if they are not a citizen of the country you’re visiting, you may need to show proof of their legal status.
✅ What If I'm Staying at an Airbnb or With a Local Host?
Some countries may accept the following:
- Host’s name and contact info (email, phone number)
- Address of the accommodation
- Booking reference or written confirmation
Always include complete and accurate details, even if it’s not a hotel.
