When flying internationally, Delta may ask you to confirm your passport and visa (or travel authorization) before check-in. You can do this right in the Fly Delta app under My Trips. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open My Trips
Log in to the Fly Delta app or delta.com.
Select your trip and look for Trip Requirements.
Step 2: Verify Your Passport
Tap Passport and enter your details exactly as shown in your passport.
Once verified, you’ll see a green Verified checkmark.
Step 3: Add Your Visa or UK ETA
For flights to the UK, tap United Kingdom Electronic Travel Authorization.
Choose to Apply with Sherpa° or Apply with United Kingdom Website.
After applying, return to Delta and tap Confirm. This “self-attests” that you hold the required authorization.
Step 4: Complete Requirements
Once both passport and visa/ETA show as complete, you’ll see: ✅ All Trip Requirements Complete
This means you’re ready to check in online (final verification still happens at the airport).
Quick Tips
Apply for a UK ETA a few days in advance (decisions can take up to 3 working days, though often much faster).
Each traveler, including children, needs their own ETA or visa.
Your ETA is linked to your passport; if you get a new passport, you’ll need a new ETA.
That’s it! Just make sure your passport shows “Verified” and your visa/ETA shows “Self-Attested” in Trip Requirements. You’re good to go.
