A Laos eVisa is valid for entry through designated international airports, land border crossings, and railway checkpoints approved by the Lao authorities.
What You Need to Know
Travelers with an approved Laos eVisa can enter the country only through specific permitted ports of entry. These include:
- Airports: Wattay International Airport (Vientiane Capital), Luang Prabang International Airport (Luang Prabang Province), Pakse International Airport (Champasak Province).
- Land Border Crossings: Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I (Vientiane Capital), Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge II (Savannakhet Province), Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge IV (Bokeo Province), Boten International Checkpoint (Luang Namtha Province).
- Railway Checkpoints: Boten Railway Station (Luang Namtha Province), Khamsavath Railway Station (Vientiane Capital).
Currently, Laos eVisas are not accepted at all border checkpoints. Entry is restricted to the official ports listed above.
Our Recommendation
Before traveling, confirm that your chosen point of entry into Laos is included in the official list of permitted eVisa checkpoints. Attempting to enter through an unsupported border crossing may result in being denied entry.
A Quick Tip
Always carry a printed or digital copy of your eVisa approval with your passport. Immigration officers at your port of entry may request to see it before granting entry.
