A Tanzanian eVisa is valid for entry through select international airports, land border crossings, and seaports in Tanzania.
What You Need to Know
Travelers with an approved Tanzanian eVisa can enter the country through official ports of entry, including international airports such as Julius Nyerere International Airport (Dar es Salaam), Kilimanjaro International Airport, and Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (Zanzibar). The eVisa is also accepted at designated land border crossings such as Namanga (Kenya), Tunduma (Zambia), and at key seaports. However, entry through certain smaller or remote border crossings may require a physical visa, so it is important to check in advance. All available ports of entry will be listed during the application process with sherpa°.
Our Recommendation
Before traveling, verify that your point of entry into Tanzania is an official border control location that accepts eVisas. Check for any recent updates from Tanzanian authorities that may affect your entry.
A Quick Tip
Carry a printed or digital copy of your eVisa approval along with your passport when arriving at the border, as immigration officers may ask to see it.
