Yes, the Oman eVisa can be extended once for the same duration as the original visa, but there are specific rules for how this can be done.
What You Need to Know
Travelers holding an Oman eVisa valid for 30 days may apply for a one-time extension of another 30 days. The first extension can be done online by the traveler. However, second and subsequent extensions require visiting the Directorate General of Passports and Civil Status (DGPCS) office in Oman.
Keep in mind that overstaying your visa without an approved extension will result in a fine of OMR 10 per day. Additionally, an Oman eVisa cannot be converted into a work visa while you are in the country.
Our Recommendation
If you think you’ll need more time in Oman, apply for an extension before your current visa expires to avoid penalties. Make sure your passport remains valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay.
A Quick Tip
Plan your stay carefully, extensions are limited and not guaranteed. Always apply for the extension early and keep proof of your hotel booking and return ticket handy, as these may be requested when applying.
