Rwanda eVisas can be renewed online through the official Rwanda Immigration portal here.
What You Need to Know
If you hold a valid Rwanda eVisa and wish to extend your stay, you should not apply for a new visa. Instead, you must use the “Renew visa” option available on the government portal. To renew, you will need:
Application ID of the visa to be renewed
Passport number used for the application
Date of birth
Extensions must be submitted before your current visa expires. Applying for a new visa while in Rwanda is not valid for extensions, and overstaying may result in fines, penalties, or difficulties with future travel.
Our Recommendation
Apply for a renewal well before your visa validity ends to avoid last-minute issues. Make sure your application details are accurate and complete when submitting the request. sherpa° can guide you through the renewal process if you need assistance.
A Quick Tip
If you’re already in Rwanda, always select “Renew visa” instead of starting a new visa application. Setting a reminder a few weeks before your visa expires can help ensure you renew on time without stress.
