The Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa has confirmed a significant change in policy. If you've already obtained an eVisa or plan to do so, you can proceed as long as it's issued before October 1st. Importantly, eVisas issued before October 1, 2023, will remain valid for travel to Egypt, even if their validity date extends beyond October 1, 2023.

We understand that the recent policy change announced by the Egyptian government, discontinuing the issuance of eVisas to Canadian citizens after October 1st, has raised concerns and questions regarding refunds. While the Egyptian government's policies do not typically allow for refunds on eVisas, we at sherpa° are committed to assisting you to the best of our ability within the constraints of these policies.
If your eVisa application has not yet been submitted to the government
If you have applied for an Egyptian eVisa through sherpa°, but we have not yet submitted it to the relevant authorities, you may be eligible for a refund from our end. We understand that travel plans can change, especially in light of these unforeseen circumstances.
To request a refund in such cases, please fill out our support form, or submit a ticket through our chatbot. If selecting the chatbot option, please click "Egypt: I need a refund" and provide us with your application details. Our team will check your eligibility for a refund and get back to you as soon as possible.
Please understand that we will do our utmost to assist you with your refund request within the boundaries set by the Egyptian government's policies.
If your eVisa application has already been submitted to the government
If your application is processing with the government or you have already received your Egyptian eVisa, we regret to inform you that, based on the policies outlined by the Egyptian government, we are unable to issue refunds. The Egyptian government's regulations do not permit refunds for eVisas that have already been processed and delivered.
