The Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa has confirmed a significant change in policy. If you've already obtained an eVisa or plan to do so, you can proceed as long as it's issued before October 1st. Importantly, eVisas issued before October 1, 2023, will remain valid for travel to Egypt, even if their validity date extends beyond October 1, 2023.
If your eVisa won't be valid for your entire stay or your arrival date in Egypt is too far out, you should consider applying for a Visitor Visa with the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate.

We are aware that recent changes in Egyptian visa policies have raised questions and concerns among Canadian citizens. Starting from October 1st, eVisas and visas on arrival will no longer be available options for your travel to Egypt (including those with previously approved eVisas).
Instead, the Egyptian government now requires travelers to obtain a visa through their local Egyptian consulate or embassy. This article will guide you through the process.

UPDATE September 6, 2023: It has come to our attention that some travelers have encountered challenges in reaching out to both the Ottawa and Montreal embassies for visa-related information and processing. This is likely due to the high volume of Canadian travelers looking to gather information.
Please note that travelers have also reported success when visiting the embassies in person, and they were able to expedite their visa applications.
