Update September 12, 2023
The Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa has confirmed a significant change in policy. If you've already obtained an eVisa or plan to do so, you can proceed as long as it's issued before October 1st. Importantly, eVisas issued before October 1, 2023, will remain valid for travel to Egypt, even if their validity date extends beyond October 1, 2023.

Effective October 1, 2023, significant changes will impact Canadian passport holders planning to visit Egypt.
The options for obtaining an eVisa or Visa on Arrival will no longer be available for those arriving on October 1st and onwards. Instead, it is now mandatory for travelers to secure a visa from the nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate before departure.
It is essential to note that attempting to travel to Egypt with an electronic visa on or after October 1, 2023, will render your visa invalid, potentially leading to complications such as denial of boarding and entry into Egypt.
