Why can’t I check-in for my flight to the United States with my visa number?

We recommend contacting the airline’s customer support team if you encounter problems during your check-in process for your flight to the United States.

Please note that an ESTA is an Electronic System for Travel Authorization and is not a visa. There is a difference between an ESTA and a USA visa.

  • If there's a field requesting a visa number, it’s because this number is required from travelers who need a visa to travel to the United States. There should be an option to bypass this if you are not required to have a visa.
  • If you’re being prompted to obtain a new ESTA, but you already have a valid one for your travel, there should be an option to bypass this step.

Get in touch with your airline’s customer support team if you’re still not sure how to proceed with checking in.
